Merry Christmas 2010 !!

Christmas , rather then a holiday it’s an festive event .It is one of the main Christian festivals celebrated in each and every part of the world with great enthusiasm .This festival is not only celebrated by catholic people but also by non Christian people. It falls on December 25 to serve as a memorial to the birth of Jesus Christ. In India, this day is also known as “Bada Din”.

The practice of putting up the special decoration on Christmas is the hallmark of this event. Customary people used to light candles in the church and do prayers for the wellbeing of their families.

Popular modern customs are exchange of gifts, Christmas carol, greeting cards, church celebration and various decorations including Christmas tree, lights, mistletoe and garlands. People used to make special and delicious dishes like Christmas cake.

Several similar mythological figures, known as Father Christmas and Santa Claus are associated with bringing gifts to children during the Christmas season. Santa Claus is famous among children. They eagerly wait for him to fulfill their wish by bringing gifts for them.

After crushing the Kiwis in both the ODIs by the Indian young be-grade in Guwathi and Jaipur now Indian team eyes on the Vadodara ODI on 4th December at Reliance Stadium to get lead of 3-0 and win the series and create a pressure on the guest team.

On the other side NZ will try to make their place in the series by winning 3rd match and will try to get the first win in the tour.It will be a tough competition because both the sites are the strongest contender in the world cricket.

Bakra-Eid is also known as Eid-Ul-Zuha, as it is called in Arabic, as ‘the feast of sacrifice” Bakra Eid is one of the biggest Indian festivals celebrated by Muslim community every year.

This festival celebrated from the tenth to the twelfth day in Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah.

Bakra Eid is marked by slaughter of animals specially goat as sacrificial offerings, after which the meat is distributed among the poors . It is said that according to the tradition, meat has to be divided into three equal parts first among the family, second friends and neighbors and another needy people.

People wear new clothes and offer prayers at the mosques. Then people meet each other along with saying “Eid Mubarak”.

DIWALI 2010

Diwali is one of the biggest festival of India celebrated with great pomp and show in almost every part of the countryl, also known as Deepawali, falls on the Katik Hindu month. As the word depicts it is also known as the festival of lights.

Preparations
Entrances are made enlighted with fire lamps and made colorful with lovely traditional Rangoli designs to welcome the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity. People used to prepare plenty type of dishes , sweats. People used to distribute gifts to others and children play with colorful crackers and fireworks. People meet with their relatives and wishes them Happy Diwali.People decorate their houses and shops with lights and flowers.

Traditions
On Diwali festival people do the Laxmi – Ganesha worship for the welfare and success in the life. As Goddess Laxmi is known as Goddess of wealth so people pray her for the increment in their wealth. Ganesha is known as the First God in Hindu mythology so people worship him for their welfare in the life.

It is also said that on this Lord Rama came back with his wife Sita and brother Laxman after 24 years and they worshipped Laxmi ji and Ganesha Ji and people of Ayodhya fired the lamp to enlighted the whole city.

This Year Depawali is scheduled on 4th November 2010 to 5th November 2010.

DHANTERAS 2010

Dhanteras Festival, also known as Dhantrayodashi or Dhanwantari Triodasi, falls on the auspicious thirteenth lunar day of Krishna Paksha in the Hindu month of Kartik (October/November). In the word Dhanteras, “Dhan” stands for wealth. On Dhanteras Goddess Laxmi is worshiped to provide prosperity and well being. Hence Dhan Teras holds a lot more significance for the business community.

Preparations
Entrances are made colorful with lovely traditional Rangoli designs to welcome the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity. To indicate her long-awaited arrival, small footprints are drawn with rice flour and vermilion powder all over the houses. Lamps are kept burning all through the nights.

Traditions
On Dhanteras Hindus consider it good to purchase gold or silver articles or at least one or two new utensils. People conducted “Laxmi-Puja” in the evenings when tiny Diyas of clay are lighted to drive away the shadows of evil spirits. “Bhajans”-devotional songs- in praise of Goddess Laxmi are also sung.

Celebrations
Dhanteras is celebrated with full enthusiasm to welcome the big Hindu Festival Deepawali. In North India children use to play with crackers and enlighten there house.
In villages cattle are adorned and worshiped by farmers as they form the main source of their income.

This Year Dhanteras is scheduled on 3rd November 2010.

As per the Hindu mythology Karwa Chauth puts a big significance in the life of married couples. This festival is a symbol of love for the married women towards their in-laws.

On this day all married women keep fast for the well being and long lives of their husband. This Hindu festival has a cultural and social significance and all Indians celebrate this festival with great joy.

This festival of is celebrated mostly by North India and spreading in the overseas as well. Women are well dresses up by putting sarees specially red in color and apply mehandi on their hands and feets which are the symbol of married life. In the evening women do worship of moon and break their fast from the hands of their husband.

Now days this festival becomes a social function people gather at one place and celebrate it with full joy and fun.

This festival is occurred just before the 10 days of biggest Hindu festival Diwali people call the starter of the Diwali also. This year Karwa Chauth is celebrated on 26th October 2010.

HAPPY DASHERA 2010

Dshera , is celebrated on the tenth day in Shukla Paksha of Ashwin or Ashwayuja month. In 2010, the date of Dasara is October 17. It is also called as Vijaya Dashami. Dussehra is the final day of Navratra.

As per Hindu mythological believes it is believed that Lord Rama Killed King of Lanka , Ravanna and relive Sita , Lord Rama Wife from the imprisonment of Ravana.That’s people used to call it Vijay Dashmi.
